neuteringNeutering:

We recommend neutering kittens from 16weeks old and dogs usually from 12months old onwards. Some of the larger breeds we may delay until older than this. Usually we neuter female dogs 4months after a season. The nurse will discuss when you book the procedure what is appropriate for your pet.

Your dog/cat will be in for the day and have a full clinical examination with the vet at the admission appointment. The vet will discuss any pros and cons to the procedure.

On admission the nurses will work out an anaesthesia and pain management plan uniquely tailored to your pet to aid quick a recovery along with their fluid therapy support for during their procedure.

Your pet will be at the practice for the day to monitor their recovery after the operation, offer them food and ensure they receive top-up pain relief before they go home. Cats after spaying and dogs after castration or spaying will also be sent home with further pain relief.
